I don't remember the reasoning behind the 800V rating. It must have been the value was only available in that rating at that time.
Well today's exercise is to play with taming the tweeters a bit with a resistor based L-Pad. I think 3db might be enough. I'll let settle for a few days before experimenting with some cross bracing and light stuffing. Besides hoping my parts for my HD get here today so I can wrench on my wench!
