Actually the base response is quite clean and pleasant on these speakers after the replacement. However, I have gotten used to music at ear level. Also, the workshop location does not provide the reflective surfaces these need. I am going to try them soon in the living room to see what they do there.
Also, I don't drink Jack Daniels at all, much less when I work in the workshop.
I have a brain disorder, called Arnold Chiari Malformation. When it decides to give me trouble, it interferes with my sequential organization and fine motor skills, and it did on this project, hence the attachment of the grills after just putting 2 screws in to test the woofer...and the occasional bandaid.
I try to make light of it, sometimes in my posts, because it will never go away. I have managed quite well with it, according to my neurosurgeon.
