RE: The Fisher XP line of Speakers!

My workshop speakers are XP55's driven by a rebuilt Advent Receiver to good effect. I came to these after years of looking down my nose at Fisher as a speaker company not really ever having listened to them. I decided to give the XP55's a try based on their high efficiency and tube friendly impedance curve as the original amp I was using was an Elekit EL84 model with an earth shattering 1.5 watts per channel. Also they were cheap and durable both key requirements for workshop speakers.
They have been a very pleasant surprise lots of volume with only the 15 watt per channel output of the Advent. Durable drivers without foam surrounds that have been unaffected by the fumes from my various painting and refinishing projects ( they have survived 5 years already ). The sound is fast yet detailed with a surprising amount of bass for a bookshelf acoustic suspension design all in all I have been very pleased.
