RE: Classic Marantz paint

I apologize for the delay in a followup post. With the top panel of my 7C in-hand, I visited the paint supply shop in person and got the same response. They said that the finish could not be duplicated with their products.

Since then I have found an alternative that I think will get very close to the taupe hammer tone, if not exact. I have looked at the line of Rustoleum Hammered paints available in quart cans. If you look at the technical sheet, they can be thinned with xylene and sprayed. There are 3 colors that I think would be contenders for a recipe to create taupe: Brown, Gray, and Gold. I cannot find the brown and gray locally, so I am waiting for Home Depot to restock their "on-line" store. Amazon has all of these, but more expensive.
