Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Test drive

The Deluxe Reverb tone is very clean, to very loud. Like a smaller version of the Super Reverb. It's actually cleaner than the dual 6L6GC Vibrolux Reverb. Partly due to the Weber 12A150T versus the two vintage 10-inch CTS alnicos in the VLR. The VLR, brownface Pro, and Blonde Tremolux have the most brown, Bluesy tone. The Pro's 15-inch JBL D130F is one of the best speakers that I've ever played through. Smooth tone, great harmonics. The CTS alnico's are next. Followed by vintage Jensen P12N's.

The SR and DR have the best response to user input (articulations of the guitar). Bassman has most aggressive tone through the Tremolux's cab (two 10-inch JBL K110's).

Will try the DR against some other 6V6GT amps and an Ampeg Jet (7591A)
