RE: Eico HF-32 vs HF-52

I've got a pair of HF-30's, the version with the 6av6/6c4 input stage. Bought about 16 of the russian 7189 equivalents (about 12 years ago, don't remember the actual tube), and matched them up on my Hickok 539C tester.

With matched pairs/quads, the amps sound nice; typical 6BQ5 sound, but stronger. I did a mod or two, including a filtered and reduced voltage screen supply. This helped clean up the hf a bit.

Life got in the way, and I stopped modding them, but listen to them occasionally. The HF-30's are in a system with, a Dyna Pas-3x, AR 4x's, with a Dual 1019 with Stanton 681EE, and a Squeezebox V3. Really nice sounding system in my Office/spare bedroom.
