If they are the preamp & amp combination you've always wanted, they are as nice of condition as they appear in the pics, you can pick them up in person, and you can get the guy to give a little on the price, I'd say it's worth investigating. But I assume $3,000 to $3,500 is not the final price. If they are stock, one is still going to have to upgrade both units, which is not going to be inexpensive if you do it right.
