RE: Mallory EM and PVC series caps.

Actually the ones I have in the photo are mylar which is supposedly a better grade of polyester.
Anyway,I like them mixed with k40s in certain stuff.They are a hell of a cap and they are a true film and foil..Some say that polyester has a slightly higher dielectric absorption than polyproplyene however,we don't really care if it does because we are using the caps to block DC and pass the AC audio signal from one section to the next in an amp or preamp.This is also true with silver micas.While they also have a higher dielectric absorption than polys,they have great AC transfer characteristics while keeping the DC element off the tube grids or whatever the case may be.
