they are present in Mac like the Mc225 and I would use them to replace one that was defective,or under physical stress,or if I did a change in part of the circuit of a fisher or Sherwood.Here is a Mac mc225 with several in it that I'm rebuilding.The only place I would change was to use a slightly larger cap in the phono stage on the sherwoods and Fishers to pass a lower freq..Remember many were rolled off because of record rumble back in the day and some of it was done in the aux as well.
