Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

tissue

I just read a little on the innerweb about the "tissue attenuator".
My impression so far is they seem to be extremely revealing to an almost thin state on my system. I wouldn't characterize them as bright on my system though.
Thursday during my cable/internet install, I played some Acoustic Alchemy thru them for the installer who said he had the 10s in his home recording studio with no sub. he was caught off guard by their sound when coupled and crossed with my Velodyne FSR-12 and class A push-pull 6p3s ultra-linear amp. I guess my point is with a well blended sub and tubes they not bad. Now I've only spun one CD and one server based album (Lou Reed). This w/e I'll spin some vinyl to get a better read on them on my gear.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well-preserved piece, but to slide across the finish line broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil, and shouting GERONIMO!
