Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

yeah no surprise there...

As others have also pointed out. These are IC / process era receivers. And not from the perfection era of such implementation. Im sure a nice pure analog, respectable receiver from the glory days would wipe it. Certainly after a proper rebuild.

Again for me it was more the fact that it was sorta surprisingly well made for its price point and time frame.

I think I have a 2270 or 2265 in storage. Needs a rebuild as the channels cut in out and or problematic.

The receiver that I really regret selling was a Harman Kardon 930 twin power unit. Man alive did that little guy have BALLS! I mean it drove the hell outta anything I connected it to. And sounded fabulous. And this was with no updates. Im sure it would sing like an angel with a nice rebuild. I keep thinking of asking the guy I sold it to if I can buy it back LOL.

Thanks
Dave
