RE: Stick with the 88's

I know the ones you are talking about and I agree 100%..Those were the JAN GEs that Jim sold and I don't think I have heard a better 6550 or KT88 anywhere other than the TS solid plates or the RCA/TS 6550..Not only is the bass fantastic on the GE JANS,but the midrange has that magic that penetrates..
I started in audio in the late 70s and early 80s..Anyway,the British GL KT88s were available new but nobody seem to call for them even tho they made until the late 80s..Everyone wanted the GE 6550 and a lot of that was due to the fact that it was standard in all ARC and CJ products that used the 6550/kt88.
