Last week I posted that I bought these two MAC pieces. I purchased them from two different people on two different websites from two different states. Well when I recieved them there were warrenty cards with the same persons name with the same dates (1976) from the same state. How weird is that? Well anyway I am very pleased with the sound I am getting from these two pieces. They replaced a heavily modified Counterpoint SA-3000 and VTL ST-85 tube amp. The cart. I was using was a Shelter 501 mk2. The sound is different, but as good. Maybe a little less detailed, but I dont miss it.How can these 33 yr old pieces with sinple lamp cords for power cords compete with my tube gear with monster power cords. Are we really advancing technologicaly in audio? I used to be an advacate for simple is better (less parts to get in the way of the music.) But the Mac is a full funtion pre with gulp! tone controls. Also the cart. I am using now is a Signet TK7E MM cart with NOS stylus........
