I've heard these in shops and in a friend's home. In the home setting, he had invited me over to set up his system (at one time I had a great rep for that) As I recall we ended up with the speakers about 2' from the back wall and 3' from the side walls in a room about 16' wide. Nothing exotic. We did use an EQ, and a spectrum analyzer fed from a GenRad SLM. Just some minor EQ was needed and the tone controls on his Marantz receiver got us close enough that we could take the EQ out of the system. Unfortunately, I don't remember the settings on the EQ or the model of the Marantz. The sound was realy excellent, and on a Fresh Aire (Fresh Aire 4?) recording there was a passage with thunder and rain. The reproduction was uncanny in it's realism.

I would advise against use of Solen caps.

Jerry
