Congrat's on the 400's.

I'm surprised about the placement comments. I have found the 400's to be the most forgiving speakers I've ever had with respect to placement (with the most difficult being the EPI 601/602). As long as I keep mine 1 foot or more away from the wall, with one corner facing the wall, they sound great to me. I'm driving mine with a SPEC-4 amp and an SX-1250 used as a tuner/preamp.
