never being able to get in touch with the seller.
I've had that happen a couple of times, too, but with other types of goods (I used to do a lot of deals with Rolex watches). It never fails to mistify me. Why would you go to all the trouble of selling something and then simply never respond to communications and let the sale drop?

I could understand this if it were folks who were newbies with only a few ratings, who don't really understand how Ebay works - and maybe mispriced an item, or set the reserve too low, or something, and just don't want to go through with the deal. But when you see somebody with several hundred transactions, you sort of assume they know what they are doing, and are actually interested in selling and customer service.

Well, assume, and all that. I know.

Michael Samra: Thanks for the offer! But I've already spoken to Terry on the phone and told him I'd send it to him. He seems like a very nice guy, (we're almost the same age) so I don't want to back out now and come off like some sort of flake. I'm making do with my SA-500, and I'm hoping to have the SX-1010 back this weekend, so I'll manage - although I'm really excited about listening to the MAC (and comparing it to the 1010).
