Any 30-60 watt per channel amp with a low plate resistance driver/phase splitter. That means PP EL84s are not an option with approximately 8-watts available when triode connected.
Not all amplifiers will sound better when triode connected. I do not care for a 12AX7 driving triode connected power tubes. Some Eico amps use a 12DW7/7247 tube- bad news tube for best sonics per my experiments. I find enough gain available when I convert that Eico circuit to E80CC/6085 for much improved sonics. Look up that Eico 2510 I posted in SET a few weeks ago for 12DW7 to E80CC conversion that SHOULD be the same for any Eico amp with the 12DW7 tube. However, I have not converted any other Eico amp, thus be careful with your review regarding the modification.
