The only way to be positive is the battery test. Unfortunately, that is a real pain on the AR-4's.

Removing the grill is not trivial.

So, your other option is your ears. Connect both ways and see which sounds better with the Dynaco. When the speakers are out of phase, the bass will suffer the most and you get cancellation as you walk around the room.
