More Ebay/Paypal BS - Has Anyone Had This Happen?

I was just prevented from bidding on an Ebay auction that listed Paypal, Money Order and Cashier's Check as acceptable payment methods. I got a message that said I was not allowed to place a bid because I don't have a Paypal account. I informed the seller and complained to Ebay - not that it will do any good. The way I figure it, I lost, the seller lost (possibly a lot since my attempted bid was 7x more than the winning bid) and even Ebay lost since they might have been able to collect higher final value fees.

Has this happened to anyone else?
