I think I hear you. As soon as I heard my Marantz 2230 with a pair of Dynaco A-25 speakers, the short lived "treadmill" was over for me. Immediately sold off the tube linestage, built new cabs with a bit of WAF for the Dynacos, moved the ACI Sapphires to the basement system, and sold off the power amp. Never happier. The music is there, engaging and fun. There are enough hi fi artifacts to know those things are there but those things do not prevail, the music always wins.
