Experiment with *stand* height in your own room, becuase the room interface makes a huge differance as to what speaker height sounds best in it. You can use anything, whatever, in your experiment & then build a cosmetically pleasing stand of the *correct* height after evaluation. Marketing an all-purpose generic stand was good business for the mfg but so-so application for the user. Once you reach mid height & beyond, the ceiling begins to act as the floor did at shorter heights. Close proximity to side walls has the same effect.
