Went to an estate sale this afternoon and saw a rack of mid-fi stuff. I knew the person running the sale and she said make an offer so I said $20, she said $30. I won. Picked up a Sherwood S-7500 receiver, Sansui QS-500 4-channel rear amp, Technics SL-23 TT and a box of fourteen RtR tapes including 3 new Scotch 207 and 2 Enoch Light Quadrophonic tapes. There was a box for a Seals and Crofts quad but no tape. She said there was no RtR unit there. Also got a Heathkit PLL Control Console (turns out to be part of home security system, oh well). After a night out I took a look at everything. All lights in the Sherwood are out but aftea few shots of cleaner it sounds sweet through the headphones. Sansui lights up like a Christmas tree. I did get the OM and schematic paperwork for the Sui. It was sitting next to the Sherwood (caseless) and it looks like someone pulled one of them out and scratched the heck out of the Sui case. TT needs a new belt and the stylus is iffy. Probably sell it anyway. My next step is to hook the Sherwood up ot the KLH-6's I just picked up to audition everything at once. Not sure what to do with the Sansui yet.
