A very sophisticated design. On the bright side if set to flat, but there are the mid and tweeter controls for that. Sweeten to your taste!

At 89 dB sensitivity, that's about the same as an Advent or my JBL L-110, so you don't needs tons of power to drive them. The TX-6500II ought to be plenty and the Yamaha 820 ought to be enough if you don't crank them too much. I have a lot of Onkyo gear, but the M-5030 power amp is unfamiliar to me. That would be a try it and see. The last time I heard the NS-1000M they were powered with Yamaha separates.

Richard C. Heyser did a very thorough test and analysis of these in Audio and gave them high marks.

I'd go for it in a heartbeat.
