and you should upgrade your speakers first, and in the meantime, get a good vintage table if you know how to fiddle/faddle, but maybe a Rega P1 with a better platter and cartridge if you want something ez and new.

Vinyl for me was a la Mike Samra, a good man. He knows his tube gear. I got back into it to show my friend the way, when he got a cheap ProJect. Took out my Linn LP 12, started playing my 600 odd records (mint conditioned 70-90's with classical, some jazz, some pop and int'l, etc.). Now I have acquired another 400 or so, some free bees, some very valuable records, mostly thrift, cleaned up. Lots better than cd.

Bose 301's, I dunno. Depends on budget. And music and sound requirements and room size.
