I used to sell Yamaha in the 80's and the NS1000 is actually not that hard to drive. Japanese speaker designers don't usually don't design speakers with the wild impedance swings that are common on American high-end speakers. Yamaha and Onkyo receivers and integrated amps should be fine. To get the most out of them, use the more powerful ones that you have.

Actually, I think your biggest issue will be your sources. The NS1000 can be ruthlessly detailed. Problems with the recordings and transducers will be ruthlessly revealed. This is why the NS1000 is popular worth recording engineers. (The NS10 is a completely different story!) This is also why Japanese audiophiles like to drive them with tubes to "soften" them up.
