but that was 36 years ago! Which is why I use double New Advents in the vintage system today.

MP3 are called lossy conversions because, well they lose content. The degree to which stuff disappears or sounds kinda swishy varies with the bit rate. They have their place and work great for mobile devices (I have 4 GB of MP3s on my Palm phone), but quality suffers for any serious listening.
