and a 320 kbps MP3 is basically CD-quality. All of the CDs, vinyl and tape I rip to digital is done at 320 kbps. I can't tell the digital copy from the original.
Before I got a larger hard drive, I originally ripped all my CDs to 320k MP3 for listening on the computer. It's fine for that, but you don't hear the missing air and decay on top, squashed dynamics, and still occasional *squishy* sound vs. the original 1440k CD?
