Charles,
I will do that, but will get 82uF/400V Pannies from Digikey @ 105C instead of the 100uF/400V @ 85C Triode Electronics sells with this board. They are exactly 25/25mm, same exact size, just a tad lower capacity (pretty much within the 20% tolerance, anyway).
How can they sell 85 Celsius caps for that environment? I found it strange then, but now I know it's too little. Might work for 95% of people reasonably, but it is underrated in absolute terms. Per Panasonic spec (2000 hrs at 85C), these caps HAD TO FAIL ON ME.
And some CMF60 resistors while at it for bypassing.
On a different note - I have to confess to you that my just restored Fisher KX-200 w/ Nichicon KZ / IC for filtering plus K40 / poly non-inductive for coupling and a bunch more upgrades just replaced the Mac1700 for amplification purposes in my secondary system. True, duel is not fair, as the Mac still stands capacitors going-through (and the MA5100 exoperience has been positive). But I have the caps and will get to it when I get to it, but pretty soon.
But this little Fisher is a complete surprise, and I believe it to be quite underrated.
Thanks for your post.
Will keep you posted on the Mac.
Greets,
Radu.
