I have two TX-8500's. My first 100+wpc purchase. Didn't hesitate when a second came up for sale. They are great performers and lack in nothing. Big and heavy with twin trannies. Thick glass faceplate. I posted a pic here somewhere. Ran one in my main for a while until I rotated the SX-1250 back in. They flew under the radar and I was able to get both for less than $100. The Yamaha CR-820 was my second receiver (sentimental value) and then I got a CR-1020. Have kept my eye out for a CR-2020 (not actively pursuing anything) because if indicated by the CR-1020 it should be a very, very nice unit. Between the two my only concern would be cost as neither should fail to satisfy. Personally I would go with the TX-8500.
