Charles, nice job!!

As doodlebug suggests, add some bypass caps; in your photo you posted, make sure the main filters are discharged, loosen the screws and slip a bypass or double bypass under the screws, tighten them back down, and viola, your midrange and upper frequencies will clear up even more. That is SOP for almost all of the Marantz gear.
