I've done both a 2105 and its matching C28. In both cases, I listened as I swapped each set of caps in the dual channels, buttoned them up and ran them in my system, starting with the 2105. In all cases, the sonic improvements were, indeed, incremental.

I'd highly recommend recaps in this order:

- Power supply components
- For tube-based power amps only: rebuild the bias supply
- Interstage coupling caps in the signal path
- Bypass and feedback caps

I'd believe the results of an integrated like the 1200. Generally, I don't put a lot of stock into published reports of certain vintage gear's sonic merits unless the reporter can also tell me what, exactly, has been done to the amp prior to the report.

Cheers,

David
