I was thinking I would primarily use it as a tube pre-amp so if I wanted phono I would have to modify the mic inputs for RIAA. I get your point though, if I were using it for recording the RIAA is almost a little like Dolby and it would be better to put the EQ on playback. It is only a two-head unit, erase and combo record/playback.
