Restoration where to begin

I have now set up two of three bogen amps.
Was considering for the FIRST TIME attempting to recap the third amp so as to learn how to work on some of these amps.
Yep I dont know much but a willing to try but dont know where to begin.
Crazy too much of a project to start out with? Any site suggestions appreciated.
Desperate to learn a little and listen a lot.
I need to know how best to take readings with my meter
Can solder a little, but am sure there are tips
Dont want to die young so want to be careful.
