I don't know if the tweeters always sounded like that or time was just not kind to them??? But the few original tweeters I have had were badly rolled off and somewhat beamy. By todays standard a pretty awful tweeter!

A simple drop in Morel or Seas fixes that situation. I like the Morel much better. It is 8ohms and has better low end control. Being the tweeter has to go down to around 1500hz - a situation almost unheard of today. I would assume the Vifa added the extra top end. I have also used that tweeter in a few projects. Not a good low end treble but fine above 3.5-4hz.
