RE: Nakamichi PA5 and PA7, opinions

I am not sure if Nelson Pass actually handed over the exact schematic of the Threshold Stasis amp to Nakamichi and said," hey, make a PA-7 out of it."

I have the PA-7II, which is 25 more watts than the PA-7, I have no clue of another difference. The sound of the PA-7II is rich and full, but if you compare it with a more transparent amp, then it would make it sounds dull.

The construction of the early Threshold was very robust, lots of TO-3 transistors, Nak PA-7 has plastic case transistor, so it's not really a rebadge Threshold.
