Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Stay home....

Kutztown is more of a radio/tubes meet than anything else. There is hi-fi there....but it is FAR out numbered by radios and other typical ham fest junk. The chances of you finding anything hi end phono related (even vintage hi end phono related) at Kutztown is very slim.

Kutztown is fun to go to, and I appreciate the enthusiasm Alnico and Interstage Tranny have for the show....but the show is still mainly a radio show and the empahsis is on that end of the hobby.

Radio/Hamfests have had the life sucked out of them by EBAY...and most of the sellers at events like Kutztown just bring their junk and leave the good stuff for the EBAY pile. At the last Kutztown meet I found a lone NOS 12AX7 mixed in with 1000's of tubes, and when I went to pay for it the seller remarked "I thought I pulled all of those out." to me.
