the original grillecloth for my bozak symphonies has been gone for years. as part of the restoration project i purchased new cloth, a stretchy fabric material. the new cloth was clearly thinner than the original and because of that the highs were a bit strident on vocals producing the dreaded 'ssssshhhh' sound. i took your advice and ran a extra piece across the inside of the grillframe covering the tweeters with an extra layer of cloth . much better! also i am running an ess series 2 eclipse designed by the late bob bird on the woofers. today as an experiment i replaced that with a hafler 500. the bass dropped out completly and i went back to the eclipse and all is well. could it be that the hafler while a good match for the hafler 110 pre was not a good match for the preamp (technics su9070)? thanks much.
