The amplifier could well be the Musician's Amplifier circuit published by Sarser and Sprinkle in Audio Engineering. At least it specifies the same tubes and OPT. As you surmised, it is a variation of the Williamson circuit using 807 tubes since KT66 tubes were not available at the time.
