i totally agree on the Yamaha preamps
I have a C2 A -and its phono section trounced
the famous APT-Holman preamp. The build quality is
unequaled today .. I am hoping to find a better example of the matching tuner- the T2 ...I bought a low cost one off ebay
it was very poor in the cosmetics- and to add insult to injury
one of the corners sustained injusry in shipping
it was poorly packed,,sounds good -tho ...
Neve played with the Soundcratsmen stuff - their equalizers
were the only things I had some exposure to...
Good Mosfet amps are rare..had a factory sample of Hafler 200
for a while...pretty darn good- the hi end was not as smooth
as the Pioneer M22 Class a i was using at the time
