I have two cats that loved to claw things. The vet recommended a hemp scratching post...it sits near my collection of speakers. They're probably tempted to scratch the speaker grills, but they're more tempted by the scratching post, and opt for it. I've had other scratching posts made of carpet and corregated cardboard, and that didn't do the trick. Something about the hemp rope is magic with the cats. One of them does sort of act like a fat lazy stoner, so maybe that explains it. He sits in between the speakers during anything classic-rock related. The other cat likes opera.

I've actually avoided buying both DCM Timewindows and Maggies because of their resemblence to scratching posts. I love music, but love my cats more I guess.
