For the front panel, use straight white ammonia and a clean sponge, followed immediately by a cold water rinse. This is for extruded aluminum panels only, and should not be done to any lacquered version.

For the dial glass, it is best to use a dry rag first. The most you should do is give the painted side one wipe only with a slightly dampened soft rag. Any more than that and you risk lifting the lettering from the glass. Use a q-tip to clean around the lettering, which is often extremely fragile.

For the chassis proper, I have a multistep process that I detailed at length some time ago that will produce a mirrored finish. It should still be in the archives. The output tube shield can quickly be brought to a true mirror finish with careful use of progressive grit automotive polishing compounds or wet sanding with 1500 paper.

For a show grade restoration, I'll remove and refinish the transformers off chassis, but that is a bit more work than most care to undertake.

Good luck!
