Let us think about this, and remember the history...
Standard Transformer/Stancor/Chicago of Chicago, Illinois, made so many fantastic sounding output trannies, including the Scott LK-150 and many EICO. Their EIA Manufacturer #(usually six digits), starts with 138
Magnetic Windings of Easton, PA made many HK & EICO, later Scott LK-150, many more sleepers. Their EIA # starts with 352
Todd Electric of upstate, NY made most of the Fairchild outputs, many, many Fisher(all of the coveted brass faced Fisher integrateds, Fisher 500B & C & more) use this EIA mfr # 926
Thordarson Electric was from Chicago, Illinois
Triad Transformer Co. was in Los Angeles,CA
Peerless Trans were also made in California
UTC, the United Transformer Corp, was in NYC
Yes, HiFi manufacturers were all over NYC, Queens, NY and the five boroughs of NY. But, the tranny companies were all over the good old USA...
