Got the first generation 6500, & replaced the power supply caps, just as Richard recommended. Has a tonality reminiscent of Marantz' B-series receivers. Hate that damn auto mute, though. It kicks in @ the most impropitious of times. Bypass that pup, along with that antenna input ferrite choke, & you've got a fine tuner with outstanding fidelity & dx-ability! Enjoy!!!
