It sounds quit interesting and if it were mine, I would let it be. I don't think it would hurt the valus since most Stereo 70's are bought for sound not looks. Unless it it otherwise all original (includeding resistors and capacitors) and pristeen, I wouldn't worry. It migh even increase the value. Can you post a picture? I'd love to see it!
