I've had an old ST-70 for close to 8 years now that is decent shape and sounds pretty good. At some point it was modified by a previous owner and has an aftermarket black plastic faceplate that I have never seen before and don't know how to get off (without breaking it). The faceplate is simple in design and has a red power LED in the center and the RCA input jacks on either side (maybe an inch or two away from the LED). It covers the normal ST-70 front panel that has the octal preamp sockets and other connections. I've never seen another one with this style faceplate, and it certainly does not appear to be home brewed (all the clean holes and the beveled edges suggest otherwise). Anyone ever seen an ST-70 with something similar or have any info on this? I'd like to know if it adds to or detracts from the value of the unit.
Thanks,
-Matt
