What does anyone know about these speakers?

I passed on a set this week at a garage sale. For $15. Was about 3 feet tall and a foot square. Grills/cloths were not removable to see what was inside. Looked like a pretty big woofer pointing out the front, maybe a three way, and one tweeter pointing sideways out the top of each side of each.

If I had more time and room, I would have taken a fling, but they seemed too similar to a paif of dfs that I don't have finished yet. Smart or dumb?
