There aren't alot of options with the older AR 2 woofers. The problem is that the diameter is about 10 1/2" or so, and it uses 6 bolts instead of either 4 or 8. One option was as a replacement for the Janszen woofer, which worked for me, but was not quite a fit for others, such as Robby on the West coast. The other obvious fit may be for the model 5 or 6 of KLH speakers. Those speakers, too, use 6 bolt woofers, but I think those drivers are even larger in diameter than the Janszen. Anyway, I have not tried it; I just report the possibility because I know you have KLH speakers about. Now the boxes for KLH 5 and 6 speakers are larger than the AR 2 box, but the Q on the AR 2 woofer in its own box is around 1.1 so it can tolerate a larger enclosure. I don't know the relative efficiency of the different models, so that may be a problem. Also, I don't know how well the midrange response will be on the older AR 2 woofer. With the CTS type of AR 2 woofer, one can simply change the felt dustcap for a hard dustcap and extend the frequency range up to 1200hz or so. I think doing that will be more difficult with the older AR 2 woofer. Still, experimenting with the woofers might be productive. If you can get them to work in a KLH 5 or 6, you'll probably get an extra usable octave of bass extension.
