I have fond memories of me TC 50's...1st real 'high end' speakers I ever owned. I quickly learned some things about them:1.)DON'T try to push 'em too hard. Especially not with high powered, but less than stellarly regulated, cheap SS amps. The French Audax drivers are prone to damage, pushed thusly. Ask me how I know this:) I was lucky. At the time, the Spica factory was 1 hour south of me, in Albuquerque, NM. The guy I talked to could tell I didn't know my ass from 3rd base yet, so he just replaced the drivers, no charge. Your 80 watt tube amp will be fine, but show some restraint. If you see the woofers really pumping, throttle back a bit. Running 'em with a high pass filter, and subs helps this a lot. I had their subwoofer, too.
2.)They are imaging champs, but you have to work with placement obsessively. 1/2 inch can make all the dif.
3.)Think with your room, and amp I'd go with a pair of Vandersteen 2CE's, but that's me.
