The 2220B is a nice unit; a 'foundation piece' for many vintage Marantz enjoyers. As suggested, I'd clean all the controls, switches and connections thoroughly with de-oxit and use good interconnects (I like Heartland 89259 w/Eichmann's with my 2220b). The unit will work well with many speakers; vintage preferred ; )
