Had some DQ10s. They were terrific speakers, realistic image, bass not huge but good, but major power guzzlers. Sounded good with my PAS3x pre and Citation 19 amp. HAd a chance to trade for some monitors and did.
Now have some TC50s. They are incredible imaging speakers, and can be used with my ST70. Definitely do not go near the volume levels of the DQ10s if you are looking at orchestral works. I would say that they portray depth better than the Dahlquists, and the bass is not as good because of the enclosure size and driver size. They are also quite rolled off in the high frequencies but that may be a product of listening to the drivers off axis. Both work best placed well out into the room.
I have a sub with the TC50s now and it helps with the LF information.
There are replacement drivers for the DQ10s.Replacement LF drivers are not available for the Spicas so you have to keep that in mind.
Spicas are available for less than the DQ10s and are really more saleable in terms of shipping. You could get money back once if you sell your DQ10s.
If I were to choose between them I would take the Spicas.
